It was fantastic to return and reminisce over the wonderful times and memories I had at Green Dragon - especially the Year 6 Shakespeare Performance! The standard is still exceptionally high, both acting and performing skills; what a wonderful experience for kids at the school past and present. As an international traveller I have spent the last two years squeezing in many “English” things. I have been to art galleries and museums, had scones at Buckingham Palace and waved to the royals who stood on the balcony. My list of things to see and do was enormous and over the past few years I have ticked many of these off. One of these experiences that I haven’t ticked off was seeing Shakespeare performed. And last night YOU did it, YOU ticked it off the list with the quintessential performance of Macbeth. You were all brilliant and you truly brought a bit of magic to Green Dragon. I was blown away!  You were all tremendous! Last night will be one of my highlights when I think about living in London! Miss Telford (Year 4 teacher at GD)

Every year our Year 6 children perform one of Shakespeare's plays.

Shakespeare's innovative use of vocabulary helps show children how to use the language. Many people use Shakespeare in everyday speech without realising it, and the richness of the language that a study of Shakespeare brings would be lost to future generations if they did not come across it at school.

At Green Dragon we ensure our children have access to Shakespeare and what better way, but to put on their own production!

Last year the Year 6 Children went to visit The Globe Theatre and attended a Shakespeare Workshop to have a go at experiencing theatrical skills.

The best way to learn to about the work of Shakespeare is by enjoying it.

'We have created so many playful and play-filled ways for you to experience Shakespeare in action. At The Globe children can visit the world famous Globe theatre to see a professional 'learning' production or attend a class a workshop on any Shakespeare play.'
